The Ankeny Art Center is dedicated to promoting and supporting Iowa artists.  The following events are designed to create opportunities for Iowa artists to exhibit their art and to allow members of the community to become better acquainted with the vibrant arts culture here in our state.

Small Art Needed for Ankeny Art Center Showcase

The Ankeny Art Center is issuing a call for entries for Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) for an exhibit which opens June 17. ATCs are mixed-media works of art that measure 2½" x 3 ½". The emerging art media of ATCs will be the sole focus of this exhibit that runs from June 17 – August 30, 2008. The exhibit includes an opening reception with an awards presentation, three workshops and an ATC trading session.

• All entries must be postmarked no later than June 1, 2008.
• The submission fee is $7 and may include up to three ATC entries.
• Awards will be given for Best of Show, Humor, Use of Fabric and Age 18 & under category.
• All entries will be included in the exhibit.  Our hope is to make this a traveling exhibit.

Anyone from professional artists and designers to those just beginning their Artist Trading Card journey, including children can enter.

All entries must be 2 ½” x 3 ½”, have your name and complete mailing address typed on the back and be in protective ATC sleeves.  All entries will become the property of the Ankeny Art Center and will NOT be returned.  Watch the Ankeny Art Center website at www.ankenyartcenter.com for photos and additional information about the ATC Swap and workshops.

Gallery 2008-2009 Exhibition Season
Exhibition space is available to any artist residing in Iowa or with strong ties to the state.  Collaborative show ideas may be submitted with the selection based on the strength of the entire group.  To read the entire brochure, click here.

Art, Wine and Enrichment Auction
