Adult Classes

Bookmaking
Students will learn and explore scrapbooking as it relates to bookbinding by constructing their own scrapbook.
Tuesday Evenings
February 5 - March 11 (6 - 8 pm)

Cost: $75 + $5 materials fee

Pottery
Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including wedging, centering, pulling up, and creating a form. Some handbuilding techniques will also be addressed. Learn the basics of glazing and firing work.

Drawing Human Faces
Learn the principles of drawing the detailed human face using charcoal.

Acrylic Painting
Use acrylic paint to learn various painting techniques.

Youth Classes
 
Handbuilding with Clay (grades K - 4)
Students will learn the basic handbuilding techniques used when working with clay including, pinching, coiling, and slab building. They will also learn the basics of glazing and firing their work.

The Potter's Wheel (grades 5 - 8)

Students will learn basic elements of design as related to painting: color, line, shape, and texture.

Cartoon Creation (grades K - 4)
Children will learn to draw their favorite cartoon characters by using simple shapes.

Any student enrolled in a Winter/Spring 2008 class has access to open studio time outside of class during Art Center hours.

If you or your child has already taken an Art Center class, you may repeat it to review and improve your skills.
