The Art Center is an independent visual arts facility that meets its own financial needs through fundraising, grants and support from community members like you.  Please consider us as you plan how to contribute to your community. The Art Center operates under the direction of Ankeny Friends of the Arts which is a 501(c)(3) organization which means all your contributions are tax-deductible.

Here are four ways you can provide financial support to the Ankeny Art Center:

1. Financial Donations

We are always glad to accept monetary donations to help us meet the operating costs of the Ankeny Art Center and its programs.  These donations are tax-deductible and we'd be glad to provide a receipt. If you would like to donate to a specific program, please consider the following:

Capital Improvements:
Renovating the second gallery with track lighting, flooring and furnishings to add exhibit space to the Center.

Improving handicapped accessibility at the Center by renovating building access and adding a restroom to the classrooms on the second floor.

Classroom Needs:
Sponsor a class by providing funds for materials and operating costs.

Exhibit:
Sponsor an exhibit by providing funds for materials and operating costs.

Contribute funds so we can purchase art for our permanent collection.


2. Shop for Art

Ankeny Art Center is a  Museum Partner with ShopforMuseums.com.  Partnering with ShopforMuseums.com serves as a means to raise much needed money to support operating costs at the Art Center.  Everyone who shops online can have a portion of their purchase donated to us with no extra cost.

Although major gifts are most often donated for capital projects or endowments, the fiscal health of museums such as Ankeny Art Center depends on contributions for general operating support.  This type of support is often overlooked. Yet it is this operating support that keeps our doors open and our staff paid.  ShopforMuseums.com was developed to raise undesignated funds that we can put toward our operating costs or wherever our need is greatest.
